About Me
Hi, I’m Stephanie Sutherland, BSN, RN, and I built Resilient RN for patients like us.
Get to Know Resilient RN
I’m a registered nurse, patient advocate, and educator — but before any of that, I was a patient.
Living with rare and complex conditions since childhood, I know what it’s like to fall through the cracks of the medical system, to be dismissed, misdiagnosed, and forced to advocate harder than anyone should have to.
That experience didn’t just shape my life — it shaped my career.
Today, I use both my clinical expertise and lived experience to help others navigating chronic, complex, or misunderstood conditions.
Resilient RN is the space I wish existed when I was first diagnosed — a place where patients are heard, supported, and given real tools to take back control of their care.
My Background
I hold a multi-state compact RN license and have experience across diverse healthcare settings, including:
-
Complex pain management at Southern New England Anesthesia and Pain Management Associates (SNAPA) and The Center for Complex Conditions
-
Outpatient care coordination, telehealth, triage, and chronic disease management in both nonprofit and private settings.
-
Clinical nurse education and research for rare and chronic conditions
Throughout my career, I’ve focused on patient education, care navigation, and compassionate leadership — especially for those managing overlapping diagnoses and long-term health challenges.
What Makes Resilient RN Different
I’m not just here to explain a diagnosis or help with a form, I’m here to walk with you through the entire journey.
Whether you're struggling to make sense of a treatment plan, advocate at work or school, or simply need someone who understands the language of both medicine and lived experience — I’m in your corner.
Through Resilient RN, I offer:
-
Patient Education – Understand your condition and treatment options in real terms.
-
Resilience Coaching – Build strength, clarity, and self-advocacy tools to thrive.
-
Healthcare Navigation – Help with coordination, paperwork, prior authorizations, and access.
-
Concierge Case Management – Ongoing, high-touch nurse-led support tailored to your goals.
Education & Contributions
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Capella University and an Associate Degree in Nursing from New England Institute of Technology.
I’ve presented with organizations such as The Ehlers-Danlos Society, The Mast Cell Disease Society, and RSDS.org, and contributed to research and medical writing through The Center for Complex Conditions and PainRI.com.
I’ve also authored multiple patient education guides, including:

A Guide for Living Strong with CRPS
